Bogus Phone Calls Purportedly from HKMA

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) has received public enquiries about phone calls purportedly from HKMA staff demanding the repayment of outstanding debt.

The HKMA would like to alert the public that its staff will not contact any member of the public via phone calls, emails or other means to discuss their personal financial matters.

Anyone who has received similar phone calls should immediately report to the Police or contact the Commercial Crime Bureau of the Hong Kong Police Force at 2860 5012 for them to follow up and investigate.
